One of the most powerful ways to create change in a capitalist society is to spend your money with companies whose behavior is consistent with your values.

• Are you unhappy that a free service is using your private information? Turn it off and pay for a service that won’t.
• Disappointed that a consumer packaged goods company is a major advertiser on a news network spreading nonsense? Switch to a different deodorant, toothpaste and detergent.
• Don’t like when a business treats employees poorly? Shop somewhere that provides great benefits and treats employees well.

When you buy from companies doing things that you want to support it feels good and helps bring more of the same in to the world.
